Forthcoming by Sara Anderson
Based on a spiritual journal I kept for several years in my mid-to-late
forties, Petitioning God: What I Really Had to Do to Get My
Prayers Answered recounts in vivid detail my struggles and triumphs
as I learned by trial and error just what I had to do in order to get
God to grant my requests. Unlike many books on prayer, Petitioning
God never glosses over the huge difficulties in trying to maintain
faith in the face of everyday life.
The two main narratives traced during the course of the book are
a lesbian love story and a cancer story, both of which have happy
endings, thanks to my successful petitioning.

About
the book:
Sara W. Anderson, Ph.D., is a freelance editor, an independent
scholar, and a former teacher at the secondary and college levels.
After the creator-sustainer of the universe revealed himself to her in
an almost frightening episode at a ninth-grade Bible study in 1971,
she began sending up pleas for help, especially with respect to her
congenital hearing impairment, the one area of her life where she
knew she was not in control. Over the intervening years, she has
continually experimented in an effort to learn the most effective
techniques of petitionary prayer.
